Biostimulators in Magnolia, WA

We all know that a youthful appearance is the epitome of beauty standards. Luckily, Sculptra is the gold standard in obtaining and maintaining a youthful, vibrant glow!

Sculptra at Lux Aesthetics stands out from other injectable treatments because it’s been designed to trigger the body’s natural collagen-making process. Whereas other injectables focus on temporarily improving wrinkles, Sculptra actually stimulates your body to restore and replenish its own youthful collagen and elastin. Results develop gradually, and the stimulation process continues for up to two years following injection.

How Does Sculptra Work?

When Sculptra is injected into areas of the face that have begun to look saggy or hollow due to loss of collagen, it triggers the body’s natural collagen-producing process with its active ingredient (poly-L-lactic acid). Over the course of several months, this brand-new collagen will make the skin look plumper and more youthful. Sculptra injections are the secret to looking flawless no matter your age, without the evidence of having any work done.

Why Choose Sculptra Instead of Dermal Fillers?

Whereas hyaluronic dermal fillers only plump the skin temporarily to fill in lines and wrinkles, Sculptra provides volume to the face in a longer-lasting way because it stimulates collagen within the skin. Dermal fillers don’t do this extra step. By creating your own collagen, you’re providing your own more youthful-looking skin.

This is excellent news for those whose face has begun to look tired or aged due to hollows and sunken areas. In addition, some people have less facial fat than others, which can cause one to look much older than they are. Facial volume is a sign of youthfulness. As the skin weakens and fat pads start to shrink, the face can start to look older. Sculptra is excellent for restoring facial volume in a gentle and natural-looking way.

What To Expect During Your Sculptra Appointment:

Sculptra is an injectable treatment much like dermal filler. On the day of your appointment, your skin will be cleansed and prepped, and a topical anesthetic may be administered. Sculptra is administered under the skin, and is pre-mixed with lidocaine for even more patient comfort. Treatment time will be approximately 30 – 60 minutes, and patients may resume their regular day afterwards.

Sculptra is injected in a series to allow your body to absorb the poly-l-lactic acid and begin forming collagen. At Lux Aesthetics, we prefer to space out the treatments 6 to 8 weeks apart. Most patients will need two sessions; however, some patients with more volume loss may need more sessions.

We recommend a session every 1 to 2 years for maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sculptra®?

Sculptra® is an FDA-approved collagen stimulator designed to restore lost volume and improve skin quality over time. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which provide immediate results, Sculptra® works gradually to stimulate your body’s natural collagen production. After the initial injection, you may notice a subtle filling effect, which decreases as the body absorbs the solution. Over the following months, your skin begins to rebuild its own collagen, resulting in long-lasting, natural-looking volume and firmness.

How does Sculptra® work?

Sculptra® is made from poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible and biodegradable material that works deep within the dermis. When injected by our skilled specialists, it triggers collagen production, restoring your skin’s structural support. Most patients require about 2-3 sessions spaced over a few months to achieve optimal results. The number of treatments and injections per session will vary based on your unique collagen needs and aesthetic goals.

What is the difference between Sculptra® and Dermal Fillers?
  • Dermal Fillers (like Juvederm, Restylane, and RHA): These are gel-based products that provide immediate volume and hydration. They’re ideal for contouring, enhancing lips, and smoothing wrinkles, with results lasting several months to over a year.
  • Sculptra®: A collagen stimulator that works by encouraging your body to rebuild its own collagen, restoring the skin’s underlying structure. While the results appear more gradually, they can last up to two to three years, making Sculptra® a long-term solution for overall skin rejuvenation.

If you’re unsure which treatment is right for you, our team can guide you during your consultation.

When will i see results?

Results from Sculptra® develop gradually as your body produces collagen. Most patients notice significant improvement in skin texture, volume, and elasticity within 3-4 months of their initial treatment.

How long do results last?

One of the biggest benefits of Sculptra® is its longevity. Results can last up to two to three years with a complete treatment plan, making it an excellent investment in your skin’s health and appearance.

How many Sculptra® treatments will I need?

On average, patients require 2-3 sessions spaced over several months for optimal results. However, the exact number of treatments will depend on your skin’s condition and how much collagen has been lost. Our specialists will create a customized treatment plan just for you.

Where can Sculptra® be used?

Sculptra® is highly versatile and can be used in areas such as:
• Cheeks
• Temples
• Jawline
• Pre-Jowel
•Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
•Marionette lines (lines below the corners of the mouth)
•Body
It’s especially effective for facial rejuvenation, providing natural-looking volume and definition in areas that have lost elasticity and structure over time.

Will I need downtime or recovery after Sculptra®?
Sculptra® requires minimal downtime. Mild swelling or bruising at the injection site is possible, so we recommend scheduling your treatment at least two weeks before important events. Most patients resume their regular activities the same day.
