LUMECCA IPL Photofacial
Lumecca IPL Photofacial is the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat sun damage, age spots, small veins, rosacea, other skin irregularities and ultimately improves overall complexion. After just one IPL treatment in Seattle WA, patients notice a significant improvement in their complexion and clarity of their skin. Lumecca operates using photothermolysis. This is a photo facial therapy through the delivery of comfortable light treatments.
What Concerns Can Be Treated With LUMECCA?:
Lumecca IPL laser treatments can improve a wide range of skin concerns, including the following:
Freckles
Vascular lesions
Sun damage
Age spots
Hyperpigmentation
Rosacea
Capillaries
Broken blood vessels on the face
Acne scars
What To Expect During Treatment with LUMECCA:
After a thorough skin health history, the face is cleansed and protective eyewear is placed. A thin layer of cold gel is applied to the treatment area. The Lumecca handheld device glides on the skin surface and applies wavelengths of IPL into the deeper layers of your skin.
When the pigmented cells absorb the light, they are destroyed and broken into tiny particles, which the body can then flush away naturally. The IPL is absorbed into the pigmented areas, leaving the surrounding skin free from damage.
Most patients do not find the treatment to be painful, and describe the light flashes as feeling like a tiny rubber band snap on the skin. Treatment time is about 20 minutes.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?:
The number of treatments needed varies depending on the severity of skin damage. Lumecca treatments are faster than other IPL devices, requiring only two to three treatments instead of the typical five or six. The Lumecca IPL photofacial is superior to other IPL devices on the market because the technology uses a higher maximum pulse light power leading to shorter treatment time and longer lasting results.
Am I a Good Candidate for LUMECCA IPL Photofacial?:

Have Melasma in the treatment area
Skin cancer
Use of AlphaHydroxy Acids 72 hours prior to treatment
Use of Retinol/Retin-A/Tretinoin 2 weeks prior to treatment

Postcare Protocols:
Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots. In the week afterwards, the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to a more even skin tone. After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.
